20 Jul A Brief Note About President Trump’s July 16th Speech
“The one thing that all Americans can agree on is that the midterm elections will be ‘fixed.’”
Maureen Dowd recently penned a critical piece in the New York Times about President Trump‘s July 16th televised speech in which he (again) repeated his claim that the 2020 Presidential election had been “fixed.” Ms. Dowd wrote:
“When you commandeer prime time, or try to, you‘d better have something prime to say. Trump didn‘t. His speech on Thursday was a dud — a batty stew of whiny complaints stemming from an election that he claims was stolen that wasn‘t, during a period when he was running the country. If something was wrong, dude, why didn‘t you fix it? He still has no proof, and he muddied matters by releasing documents containing information already known and warning about ‘vulnerabilities‘ his administration has made worse.”
TLR disagrees with Ms. Dowd’s characterization of Thursday’s speech as a “dud.” TLR has asserted for quite some time that there is masterful media merit (and electoral consequence) in President Trump’s words and actions concerning the “stolen” 2020 President election (including in his recent directions to the U.S. Postal Service and in the proposed SAVE America Act). TLR‘s perspective was last articulated in January…, and is worthy of repetition:
